Who Is Our Course Aimed At?
Our course is aimed at anyone over the age of 18 to 118! who is eager to learn the principles of live sound engineering. As well as having people who have wanted to engineer bands we have trained other people such as singers, musicians, teachers, live venue owners and sound equipment installers.

What You Will Learn: Just some of the subjects covered:
The principles of sound, what it is, how it is made up, the measurement of it.
Acoustic and electronic instruments and the levels they create.
Understanding the equipment that can be used in a live performance eg:
Mics,Mixers,Amplifiers, Speakers, Gates, Compressors, Effects Processors,
Equalisers
Types of Speaker Systems, setting up & their application
How the equipment is connected together and connections used.
Understanding & using Mixing Desks
Gain Structure, EQ & Signal Routing
Front of House and Monitor Mixing.
Planning a mix, Sound Checking and Creating a Mix.
Types of Mics, their application and setting up.
The types of Cables & Connectors required and the importance of good
cabling.

Equipment Used
Base Sound teaches through practical hands on training using equipment from leading sound equipment manufacturers. These include companies such as: Martin Audio, Allen & Heath, Soundcraft, Crown, QSC, BSS, Lexicon, DBX. Shure, Sennheiser, AKG, Yamaha,

Cost/Times
The cost for the weekend course is
£235.00 and is taught over Saturday and Sunday from 10am – 6pm. Drinks and a light lunch are included.
