Pro Tools Training
Base Sound have expanded their training facilities with a new, dedicated Pro-Tools studio to teach Pro Tools on a one to one or small group basis.

Our courses are specifically tailored towards Live Music Production and are suitable for both: Newcomers to ProTools: wanting to get up and running quickly but still hoping to cover all the major areas of Tracking, Mixing and Mastering in a concise but well structured broad overview - from studio set up through to producing a finished product.

Those already using Pro Tools: who want to enjoy a more flexible approach in order to focus on the key areas where you are looking to strengthen your skills.

Being based in a live music recording studio we are also able to include areas such as actually tracking instruments and vocals including mic selection/positioning and then also monitoring so that you can fully appreciate how Pro Tools can be the centre of either a Home or Professional Studio.

About Pro Tools
Pro Tools is a digital audio workstation and works on both Microsoft Windows and Apple OS X. It is developed and manufactured by Avid Technology and is widely used by professionals throughout the world for recording and editing in music production, film scoring, film and television post production, musical notation and MIDI sequencing. Pro Tools can run as standalone software, or operate using a range of external A/D converters and internal PCI or PCIe audio cards with onboard DSP.

If you are new to Sound Engineering and wish to learn Pro-Tools our training will have you up and running straight away. If you already use Pro-Tools and wish to learn more, then we can take you further.

So why should you learn Pro-Tools with Base Sound?
You can not beat one to one tuition, we are all human and with our training you can ask questions, with a book you can’t
By learning Pro-Tools on a One to One basis, the day is tailored around exactly what you want to learn
We have a dedicated Pro-Tools Studio and Teacher
With our training we run the latest version of Pro Tools & have additional 3rd Party Plugins bundles such as Waves Platinum
You can work on a current project in a real studio, yes we have real drums, guitars, bass, mics etc
The day runs from 10am - 6pm with lunch and refreshments included - 8 hrs tuition
The price includes free 1hr after sales, telephone technical support
Getting there is easy: If driving then you can park outside our front door
By train we are only 5 mins walk from Stonehouse station which has direct trains to Birmingham & London

Just some of the of the Pro Tools topics our training can teach you
Setting Up: including cable selection & configuring with your sound card
Creating a song, building up tracks
Recording real instruments & vocals and then optimising to get the best sound
Using specific out board plugin's such as gates, compressors, graphics, aural exciters etc
Using a broad range of effects
EQ & Mastering to give it the true “Pro Sound”
Mixing down to a wide variety of final formats
Creating drum tracks & using sampled sounds

Not Just Pro – Tools - Don’t be swamped by all the jargon!
If you want to get into the whole studio recording, mixing, mastering game with a view to hooking it up to a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) such as Pro-Tools then our one to one training is the answer.
When starting out so many people get lost with what hardware to use (mixer or Interface) and connectivity such as fire wire, USB, ADAT etc and then there’s getting around latency and providing individual monitoring mixes for the individual musicians you are recording.

Our Base Sound One to One Pro - Tools training is tailored around your needs whether it be advanced programming and mastering or set up, connection and simple recording.
